Overview
Rachel Holazo was a painter and visual artist based in Davao City. Since 2007 I have managed her estate — handling the business, legal, and curatorial side of her body of work so that the art itself is preserved, accessible, and properly represented.
This is not a typical portfolio project. It sits at the intersection of intellectual property law, archival practice, and cultural stewardship — and it has no finish line.
What I Do
- Appraisal, storage, and preservation of original artworks
- Cataloging the full body of work with provenance documentation
- Licensing and copyright management for reproductions and commercial use
- Organizing solo exhibitions and retrospectives
- Coordinating loans to museums and galleries for displays and group shows
- Overseeing all legal matters related to the estate
Why It Matters
Most artists’ estates dissolve or go undocumented. The administrative work behind keeping a body of work alive — legally protected, physically preserved, and publicly visible — is invisible until it isn’t done. I’ve been doing it for nearly two decades.
